Sixth Form
Le Murier offers provision for students that are 16-19 yrs within the Semi-formal pathway.
This pathway is developed in collaboration with parents/carers and Adult Disability Services to ensure a smooth transition for students into adulthood. We provide a tailored timetable of learning that encompasses essential life skills, social interaction skills, coping strategies, desensitisation techniques, personal independence, care skills, and functional communication practice. Additionally, we offer complementary accreditations, such as ASDAN, BTEC, and AQA, where appropriate, to further enhance our students' qualifications and readiness for the future.
Transition planning with multi-agency collaboration and parents/carers begins at age 14 to ensure that the pathway of support and necessary skills are clearly defined. When suitable, we assist students in securing work experience placements within the community and identify potential opportunities they can pursue after leaving Le Murier.
